| Rehabilitative Service |
Our specially-trained physical, occupational and speech therapists evaluate and work with the patient and their family to design a plan of care that allows the patient to regain his or her maximum functional potential. Our therapists treat patients with health problems resulting from diseases such as arthritis or those recuperating from physical injuries, orthopedic or cardiac surgery, fractures and stroke. The therapist evaluates the patient’s ability to function within the home. Home safety concerns are identified through an environmental risk assessment and, when necessary, adaptive equipment and therapeutic intervention are recommended. Our rehabilitation team includes:
- Registered nurses
- Physical, occupational and speech therapists
- Medical social workers
- Nutritionist
- Home Health Aid
Indications appropriate for physical therapy may include:
- Impaired mobility
- Limited range of motion
- Muscle weakness
- Neurological deficits
- Need for adaptive equipment or assistive devices
- Gait analysis and training
- Congenital abnormalities
Indications appropriate for occupational therapy may include:
- Dependency in daily living skills or homemaking activities
- Muscle weaknesses
- Need for neuro-developmental training for pediatric patients
- Sensory impairment
Indications appropriate for speech therapy may include:
- Aphasia, dysarthria and apraxia
- Dysphagia
- Hearing loss
- Laryngectomy or other surgery affecting voice or speech
- Voice deviations
