We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Gifts of stock or other assets
A gift of stock, which has appreciated in value over time, can be a wonderful way to benefit the VNA/SCC and may have significant tax benefits. Making a thoughtful gift of an asset such as real estate, stocks or bonds, life insurance, or IRA’s could prove extremely beneficial to you and provide generous support to the recipient charity. Please contact our office for more information.

Memorial gifts
One of the most meaningful ways to acknowledge the passing of a loved one is by offering a gift as a tribute. Often, individuals choose to make gifts in memory of their loved ones on birthdays or to mark the anniversary of their passing.

Recognition or Special Occasion gifts
Recognition is a way for patients and their families to acknowledge and thank individual staff members. Special occasioin gifts are a thoughtful way to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or the birth of a child.

Matching gifts
Many employers will match their employees’ charitable donations, thereby doubling thoughtful gifts. Matching gift forms, available through many companies’ human resources office, provide the necessary details and instructions.

Named Fund
A gift or bequest may be designated to a “named” fund—the name to be chosen by the donor, perhaps to honor or memorialize a loved one. The VNA/SCC will be pleased to accept a gift of $10,000 or more for a named, unrestricted fund to support the overall mission of the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut. Unrestricted gifts provide the flexibility to use funds where they are most needed at the time of the gift.

Program Fund
Donors may choose to restrict a named fund for a specific program area, such as pediatric care or oncology care. The VNA/SCC is pleased to assist planned giving donors in creating named, restricted gifts of $25,000 or more. For bequests with a specific intent, the donor – or the donor’s attorney - are encouraged to discuss plans with the development office to insure that VNA/SCC will be able to fulfill specific wishes.

Planned Gifts

Donors may make a planned gift through charitable bequests from will, life insurance, retirement plans or charitable trusts and annuities.

Bequests
One may choose to make a provision in his or her will for a gift to the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut. A bequest is probably both the simplest and most commonly designated  form for planned giving. A bequest sets a specified dollar amount or percentage of one’s estate as the gift. Bequests may be in any amount, however, additional options are available for those who would choose to establish a named fund.

State law governs wills, so it is important to retain an attorney. Our suggested language for a bequest to the VNA/SCC is:

“ I bequeath to the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut, Inc. established by law in the state of Connecticut (insert here the amount in dollars or percentage of estate.) (You may add specific language if your gift will establish a named fund or program fund.)”
