VNA South Central has provided healthcare at home to millions of people. We care for people in our community of all ages and do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, financial status. We are able to provide care to the uninsured and underinsured through grants and donations.
Donations to Our Annual Fund
Making a general donation to our Annual Fund is the simplest, most direct, and immediate way to offer support. As a non-profit organization, all gifts we receive are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Please make checks payable to the VNA South Central CT. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
Many employers will match their employees’ charitable donations, thereby doubling thoughtful gifts. Matching gift forms, available through many companies’ human resources office, provide the necessary details and instructions.
Sustaining donations are an easy and budget-friendly way to help support VNA South Central! Sustaining donors can make an ongoing contribution weekly, monthly, or annually — which means that the amount you choose will be deducted from your account until you stop or change it.
One of the most meaningful ways to acknowledge the passing of a loved one is by offering a gift as a memorial. Often, individuals choose to make gifts in memory of their loved ones on birthdays or to mark the anniversary of their passing.
Recognition is a way for patients and their families to acknowledge and thank individual staff members. Special occasion gifts are a thoughtful way to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or the birth of a child.
One may choose to make a provision in his or her will for a gift to the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut. A bequest is probably both the simplest and most commonly designated form for planned giving. A bequest sets a specified dollar amount or percentage of one’s estate as the gift. Bequests may be in any amount, however, additional options are available for those who would choose to establish a Named Fund.
State law governs wills, so it is important to retain an attorney. Our suggested language for a bequest to the VNA/SCC is: “ I bequeath to the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut, Inc. established by law in the state of Connecticut (insert here the amount in dollars or percentage of estate.) (You may add specific language if your gift will establish a named fund or program fund.)”
A gift or bequest may be designated to a “named” fund—the name to be chosen by the donor, perhaps to honor or memorialize a loved one. The VNA/SCC will be pleased to accept a gift of $10,000 or more for a named, unrestricted fund to support its overall mission. Unrestricted gifts provide the flexibility to use funds where they are most needed at the time of the gift.
Donors may choose to restrict a named fund for a specific program area, such as pediatric care or oncology care. The VNA/SCC is pleased to assist donors in creating named, restricted gifts of $25,000 or more. For gifts with a specific intent, the donor – or the donor’s attorney – are encouraged to discuss plans with the Development office at 203-859-6054 to ensure that VNA/SCC will be able to fulfill specific wishes.
